Your Emotions Trigger your Motivation to Exercise How? When I was a teen, my sole purpose to exercise was just this - to look good in any dress I wore. That kept me on my toes to exercise. Believe me. Hey! Don't jump the gun yet! I know there are other stuffs that could trigger you to exercise. Stuffs like:
Hmmmm.....I'm sure you can add many more stuffs to the list. OK. These are what I call the emotional "guns".
The question is, how do you get your "triggers" of motivation to exercise, to stay on, day after day, month after month? Not easy. I know. Been there. Done that. The "secret" is just this - what makes you decide to exercise in the first place? That would hit the bull's eye right where it is! Is it because -
Ooh! I can tell you, your "trigger" of motivation to exercise lies somewhere. What you need to do is to trace back to the time when you feel extremely motivated to "pull that trigger". Bang! That's it. You're on track! Don't believe me? All right. The next time you start to feel lazy or undisciplined, think about the trigger. I promise you, you'll go back on to exercise!
One more thing, sticking with an exercise program is more than just motivation. You need time, discipline, patience and a daily commitment to see it grow. There isn't a shortcut but once you make exercise a part of your life, you'll do it unconsciously and effortlessly. And once you enjoy the feeling of well-being, reduced stress and increased strength and stamina you get from exercise, you'll go on because you don't want to lose it.
