Muscle, How to Lose it?

I have a problem with my thighs - there's a lot of bulky muscle on the side of my thighs from when I was a child. But then, I ran around a lot and was really energetic but now I don't run around as much, the muscle just looks like fat and make my legs look ugly.
It also increases my trouser size. Could you tell me what exercise I could do to decrease the muscle and what foods to avoid or take.
I know it's not healthy to lose muscle but I really need to improve my thighs, so if you could give me some information I would be really grateful.
My Answer
In my opinion, the "muscle" you talk about is not really muscle, so to speak.
Because if it's muscle, then it shouldn't increase your trouser size as muscle, unlike fat, is compact and takes up less space than fat. And muscle would give your thighs definition due to its leanness and compactness.
So it would appear that the "muscle" in your thighs is actually fat; excess fat at that if you can accept it......
That settled. Then I can talk about how to blast away the excess fat there. I would suggest 2 exercise routines plus a healthy well-balanced diet to combat the fat:
1. Cardio exercise (like running, walking, biking, swimming, jumping rope.....)
This is a must because it's the most direct and powerful way to boost your metabolism, making you that much easier to burn off excess fat from your entire body (which would include excess fat in your thighs too), to lose the fat that covers your thigh muscles.
Workout 3-4 times or 4-5 times per week for at least 30 minutes per session.
2. Thigh strengthening exercise (or toning exercise)
This routine strengthens, sculpts and builds beautiful lean muscle mass (not bulky ones) into your thighs, giving them leaner and sharper definition. Like I said earlier, lean muscle mass burns more calories, so in this way you get to slim down your thighs.
I've a thigh routine featured here which I think would be helpful in shaping up your thighs.
Workout 3-4 times for 15 minutes or so per session.
3. Eat a healthy, well-balanced nutritious diet that promotes weight loss
To really get rid of the excess fat, exercise alone will not cut it.
You need to eat the right kind of healthy food that leads to weight loss.
The most niche way to do this is to cut down your fat intake in all your food. If you can do this, you've already won half of the fat battle.
I think this guide on how to smartly cut down fat would be a good reference for you.
