How I Turn My Passion Into A Money-Making Venture.....
The Continuation I would say this page is really a continuation from my autobiography page. If you want to know more about me, here's my short life history.... I don't know - could I ask you this question? You like the information on this website? Ever wonder how I can give away "cutting-edge" information for free? Ah......It's because I started out building my site following the way SBI!(acronym for Site Built It!) taught me to.
I got off ground in January 2006, gunning straight into my passion: fitness and exercise. I write 1 or 2 pages of content per week, during my spare time at nights and on weekends, working say about 10-15 hours in a week. I work at my own pace, no rush whatsoever, steadily adding page after page of content to build up the site. Before I know it, the site has grown into a full-fledged commercial site that's packed with relevant, useful and practical information, tips, insights, the dos, the don'ts, what works, what doesn't about exercise, fitness, health, weight loss, body shape, metabolism, calories...... In short, what you see now on this site! I just share what I'm passionate about (i.e. fitness and exercise) and what I know about. Because it's what I love to do, I enjoy and savor the process of learning the basic ropes to build a site. The techie stuff, material for content, site building, site design, search engine optimization and even how to write like a pro - SBI! teaches and supplies all these and more..... I won't say it's easy. It's not; because you need to bring your willingness, commitment and motivation to the table to do it. There are also lots of visitors requesting for help/advice on fitness and exercise. I'm honored and touched by all the accolades I get, people expressing their thanks and appreciation because of my site's information which has helped them, one way or another. The site has grown leaps and bounds and traffic increases every day as I add more content to it. It has snowballed into a site that carries the voice and authority on fitness and exercise. Now you would be wondering how I do on the money side? Not bad either as I get to "pocket" on average $500 per month vie Google Adsense (those ads put up by Google on my site;when visitors click on them, I earn income) and affiliate programs. Enough for a nice vacation somewhere, payment for my car or the occasional splurge on dinners and concerts......... Again, not much by any standard but I know I'm in for the long haul, so the money would come in steadily as I chug my site building along nicely. (P/S: Affiliate programs - These are products or services I recommend from merchants whom I think are ethical and are in the business to provide quality products and services, which I think would be useful and add value to my visitors if they buy them. I just tell people where they can buy them and if they like the products or services and buy them, I get to earn a commission) The most wonderful thing that has ever happened out of this is that my income is steadily growing, day after day, whether I work on the website or not. It grows fast when I do lots of work, but it still grows while I take time to "chill out" (like going for holidays; watch some interesting TV programs; read a novel.....). I earn money while vacationing; while lazing around; while enjoying the good things in life; while sleeping.... Cool, huh? The most exciting thing is that I know I'll be able to resign from my day-job not long from now and retire early and young. It's so hard to believe that I can own my life and my time, the way I want it...... It sure feels real great to be able to wake up in the morning knowing that I'm going to do something I love! Whoa! What a feeling!
You already know that I was searching for ways to start an online business and was extremely frustrated with tons of "get-rich-quick" schemes, right?
