One other thing shoulder stretches do - whisk tension out of your shoulders. Don't you love them? Let's get ready to do these stretches right after your toning routine for your shoulder . "I don't have time for this!" - you groan. But still, you got to do them because they're important component of your toning routine. Remember the components? Ooophs.... Forgotten already ? Here, let me refresh your memory:
Stretch it right after your shoulder toning routine, when your shoulder muscles are still warm from the exercise. And execute your stretches gently and slowly, without pushing too hard on your muscles. Also remember, don't jerk or pull your shoulders when stretching as this signals you've either overstretched or wrongly stretched them, which may lead to injury.
You'll feel a gentle resistance and a sweet, soft sensation in your shoulder.
When you've stretched too hard
You breath fast and quick; or worse, you hold your breath.
Hey, ease off, relax, go slow and gentle with your stretches.
Shoulder Stretch 1 Stand up straight, your feet shoulder-width apart, your knees bent slightly. Place your left arm across your chest and make sure it is placed parallel with the floor. With your right hand, pull your left arm in closer to your chest. You should feel a stretch in your shoulder. Hold this position for 20 seconds. Relax. Repeat with your right arm. Shoulder Stretch 2 Stand up straight, your feet shoulder-width apart, your hands clasped together behind your head. Slowly pull your shoulder blades together and if you can, raise your arms up towards the ceiling. You should feel the stretch in the anterior portion of your deltoid muscle. Hold this position for 20 seconds, relax, then repeat. Shoulder Stretch 3 Stand up straight, your feet shoulder-width apart. Place one arm across your chest, keeping the elbow of the same arm straight and its shoulder down. Using your other hand or arm, pull the straightened arm into your body. You should feel a stretch in the posterior portion of your deltoid muscle. Hold this stretch for 20 seconds. Relax, repeat with the other arm.
