Symptoms Of Too Much Exercise Are Warnings To You..........
You're exercing too much. In other words, over-training!
Symptoms of too much exercise?
You think I'm out of my mind?
Would you ever encounter this kind of problem?
At the rate you're going?
I mean, here you are, struggling hard to do toning exercise and a bit of cardios here and there and already you're finding it difficult to sustain....and you want to quit already!
Don't talk about too much exercise. It's more like you're "under-exercise"!!!
Hey, don't take it seriously, I'm just kidding......
Right. Come back to the subject of you having symptoms of too much exercise -
You'd think since a little exercise is good for you, so more must be better, right?
I thought so......in the past.
Well, not necessary.
You could have reached a point of diminishing returns or, worse, a point where your body says "Enough! I can't take it anymore!"
And you'll be hitting at the stage where exercise leaves you more exhausted than energized.
And you incur injuries often. And you feel you've so much discomfort in your body. And you feel so lethargic, there's no life in you......
The list could go on.
Danger! The symptoms of too much exercise are already creeping in to steal your joy from exercising!
It's time to recognize the exact symptoms and let them be warnings to you that you're treading on "over-training" ground.....
Know The Symptoms
I was overzealous when I first started exercising and didn't know the downsides of too much exercise.
I want to teach you ways to recognize the signs of over exercise before it becomes chronic.
Wait until you see the non-physical symptoms......
Symptoms of too much exercise can manifest vide your emotion and psychological being, leaving you irritable and depressed particularly when quality of your exercise declines.
Emotional and psychological signs of too much exercise can manifest in the forms of apathy, reduced self-esteem, depression, emotionally sensitive and difficulty concentrating.
Ohhhh.....
That's not too good either, huh?
Well, never mind all these.
I'll show you the balanced approach.
Understand The Cause
Knowing the symptoms is one thing, but the real task is to nail down the cause why you're experiencing symptoms of too much exercise and realistically confront them.
Again, the cause has got physical side and non-physical side of it.
Physical Cause
This could be because you're very conscious of your health and body. You want to be in the best of shape always......
Or you want to look good and fit, in as short a time as possible - I guess, to impress someone, perhaps?
How about because of a school reunion dinner or ball or friend's wedding coming up?
Or you want to max out the use of your exercise machine or your gym membership?
So you exercise for more than one hour every day, without fail.
You exercise hard and fast, at high intensity, at furious speed and sometimes even push your body to the brink of utter exhaustion......
Bang!
Your body suffers as a result of the torturous treatment you dish out. It collapses and protests!
Blimey! That's not the way to exercise!
The correct way is to begin exercise at your level i.e. if you're a new exerciser, begin at the beginner level. Once your body adjsuts and adopts to the tempo, progress gradually to intermediate, and then advanced levels.
And don't jump the queue! There's a logic to doing things this way - to build up your body's endurance and strength level by level. (Remember, Rome is not built in one day!)
If you jump the queue, your body will cry out loud and clear to you that it can't take the sudden load put on it by high intensity and high frequency associated with advanced level of exercises!
Non-Physical Cause
More often, the urge to over-exercise and your experience of having symptoms of too much exercise really have lots to do with your psychological or emotional issues.
A break-up in a relationship, perhaps?
Or quarrell with your husband? With your boyfriend? With your friend?
Or a traumatic event like a loved one in the family passing away?
Perhaps monetary problem in the family?
So, you find solace in exercising and do it excessively to escape your problems......
Whether it's physical or emotional or psychological, over indulgence in exercise can bring you more harm than benefits and you're risking your health too.
Seek professional help like having counselling sessions with a psychiatrist or a phychologist, to root out your cause.
Then, go back to normal pace of exercising.
Exercise In Moderation
My motto in exercise: do it in moderation.
You'd think that a toning routine which consists of toning, cardios,
strength training and stretching will get you to the point of experiencing symptoms of too much exercise?
Think again!
It's NOT. Because the whole routine is to provide you with a well-balanced and complete exercise workout, for good health of your body.
Just do the exercise in moderation - 60 minutes per session, 3 to 4 times per week. I guarantee you'll not be having symptoms of too much exercise!
Psssssstttt......
You in a hurry to see results?
I always have this problem....
Hah! I exercise and exercise until I'm so tired because I think when I exercise hard and in pain even, I'll see results faster......
Woo......! What a let down because the opposite happens!
Now I know results come from consistently and regularly doing the exercise, employing the correct technique and body form and of course, perseverance counts too!
Now you know you can hit symptoms of too much exercise at any time in your exercise journey.
The solution is to exercise in moderation and always, always listen to your body. It'll tell you to pick up or slow down.....
Don't exercise to the point of excessive indulgence, to the exclusion of all other things in your life!
Exercise supposed to be an enjoyment, not a torture.....
Nor a depriver of joy.....
