Top 10 Reasons To Exercise? Here's "Tell It Like It Is" Kind Of Reasons......

Who knows, one of the top 10 reasons to exercise could motivate you enough to get going and do it!

You and I and other exercisers have got different reasons to exercise.

I can easily cull a list of top 10 reasons why you want to exercise, from the many, many different reasons given.

But I'm going to give you a "star" list of reasons.

Hopefully, these reasons are inspiring and motivating enough to spur you to exercise.....

Right. We shall start from the top rung and work our way down to the bottom.

Top 10 Reasons to Exercise: 1 - Weight Control

Yeah, this is the biggie of all the reasons you want to exercise.....

Weight control, weight management, weight loss, maintain bodyweight and you name it.

Kind of obsessed with the subject, aren't we?

But when you look at it from the viewpoint of health and fitness, overweight is really a health hazard because it brings so many health issues - diabetes, high blood pressure, heart attack, stroke, increased LDL ("bad" cholesterol).....

Then I think you can appreciate why weight control is The Concern.

So are you surprised "weight control" tops the list of top 10 reasons to exercise?

Not really, huh?

Let's face it, exercise is the better way (I must emphasise again, the better way)to help you lose weight and keep off your excess weight.

Well, no matter what's being said about not exercising but still losing weight, I want to nail down the very truth - how long can you keep the weight off, by say just dieting?

Not long. You'll gain back the weight you lose once you stop dieting.

Believe me, it's a harder way to lose weight. You'll be on a Yo-Yo kind of thing - lose weight, gain weight, lose weight, gain weight. Your bodyweight is up and down, up and down....You're in a never-ending vicious cycle!

Get the right perpesctive by knowing that exercise is the better way to lose and keep off weight. Period.

Here's a good piece of argument on the subject of losing weight without exercise , does it sound rational to you?

(P/S: Exercise combines with a healthy weight loss diet will make your weight control effort so much easier to manage!)

Top 10 Reasons to Exercise: 2 - Feeling Good After

I can tell you the "feeling good" factor after the exercise is more than exhilarating.

It's a deeper, meaningful and wonderful sort of feeling that tells you that you've done a superb job for your body and for your health that seals the approval - you've done the right thing!

And in your heart of heart, you know you want to do it because you want to be healthy and fit and look good and you won't trade in anything for it!

Hey, this is the kind of genuine motivation that will keep you come back again and again to exercise......

You don't need to be pushed, pulled, shoved, kicked, dragged,....whatever, to exercise!

Swell!

Top 10 Reasons to Exercise: 3 - Increased Energy

You sure don't feel like exercising but once you've finished, the feel-good factor kicks in and there is an increase in oxygen levels. If you exercise regularly, you'll have higher energy levels than when you don't exercise.

This is because during exercise, your blood vessels that go to your muscles dilate, causing an increase in blood flow and oxygen to the working muscles.

This, along with a temporary increase in your metabolic rate, causes you to feel more energized.

You not only have this “burst of energy” during exercise, but also after you've finished exercise. For example, if you exercise in the morning, it'll cause you to feel energized throughout the day.

Imagine, when you're full of energy, how many more tasks and daily activities you can accomplish and not feel tired?

You feel great, right?

You should be motivated and put this as one of the top 10 reasons to exercise!!!

Top 10 Reasons to Exercise: 4 - Have Muscle Tone

If you don't exercise, your skin will droop, sag and your muscle tone?

Sad to say, it'll look a sorry state i.e. you'll look flabby all over your body!

To keep muscle in your body tight and in good shape, the ideal way is for you to exercise and tone your whole body and also to strength train .

The first helps to tone and sculpt your muscle and the second helps you to grow muscle mass, which is metabolically active so you burn body fat, hence keep in shape.

I'm sure a tight, sculpted muscle tone and a trim body shape are what inspire you to exercise?

For me, they are. I "covet" these 2 unashamely!

How about you?

Tell me, who doesn't want to look good and sensational?

Hee...hee....hee.....Well, no short cut and no easy way out, exercise!

Top 10 Reasons to Exercise: 5 - Have Cardio-Respiratory Fitness

To have cardio-respiratory (heart and lungs) fitness is important and this is what you're looking for when you exercise.

You've hit a correct nerve on the reason to exercise.

When you're cardio-respiratorily fit, you've a strong heart and healthy lungs.

Your heart gets to pump blood more "leisurely" meaning lower stress on your heart and your lungs get to expand more and be able to take in larger intake of oxygen.

You'll get lower chances of heart attack, stroke and other heart and lung-related diseases.

You get this fit heart and lungs through regular cardio workout .

Does this constitute a very very strong reason for you to exercise now?

Top 10 Reasons to Exercise: 6 - Keep Flexibility

To keep your body flexible is a top priority for you?

You've got a very strong reason to exercise then!

When you exercise, you don't just "exercise" per se, you do lots of stuff in one exercise session - flexibility training i.e. stretching , strength training and cardio.

Especially when you do flexibility training, you're training your body and muscles to stretch to gain flexibility.

A flexible body is a treasure to have.

You'll be able to move with more ease, with more agility and with more efficiency.

Flexibility becomes a priced, priced treasure when you get older - it helps you to prevent falls, injuries and bone fractures.

Top 10 Reasons to Exercise: 7 - Reduce Stress

I've got wonderful insights about what exercise can do to reduce your stress .

Experience lots of stress in your life?

Then, this is a very good reason for you to start exercise.

You'll thank me for this.....

Do you enjoy your exercise? Sure you do!

I enjoy my exercise because I make it a point to choose exercise I like and enjoy doing and in the process have fun as well!

You don't have to treat exercise like it's a hard, boring chore - this kind of thinking will always talk you out of exercising!

You may also think exercise hurts, injures and pains you.....

Change your thinking - exercise is meant to be enjoyed, not to be suffered.

How do you enjoy your exercise?

Exercise outdoor. It really will make you happy and enjoy your exercise! Imagine the lovely sunshine, the fresh air, the greens, the flowers, the birds and the natural "tunes" and "sounds" surrounding you.

Whoa! Whoa! Whoa! How enjoyable!

Top 10 Reasons to Exercise: 9 - Improve Self-Esteem

You exercise to keep active, besides the major goal of achieving good health and fitness.

Being more active, research suggests, increases your self-esteem and confidence.

More than that, I can tell you from my own experience - because you exercise, you feel so good about yourself accomplishing some "major" goals in your life (Hey! To exercise is a major goal!), naturally you feel you can achieve other goals with confidence as well!

Self-esteem and confidence also bubble up because you know you look good and fit in your body and appearance due to exercise!

They give you a sense of accomplishment - you've achieved pristine health and have a beautiful body.....

If you treasure self-esteem and confidence, then this reason is enough to put you on your toe to exercise!

The only way you can take time out for yourself is when you exercise.

True?

If you're a busy mother, an up-and-coming career woman or a dedicated homemaker, I think I can hear a resounding "ayes" from you!

Because other times, you're catering to your family, your work, your domestic chores, your.....

Seems you've endless lists of things to do!

Alas! Exercise "frees" you from your family, from everyone and from everything else, so you can preciously spend on yourself, to improve your health and fitness.

For you, the exercise time becomes something you look forward to.

Then you find that it's also a valuable time for you because it helps you to think clearly, to plan for things you want to do, to recharge yourself or just to relax yourself.

Sounds like you?

Congrats! It's a very good reason for you to exercise!

Keep it up!

I've finished the list of top 10 reasons to exercise.
