Which Are The Fastest And Effective Ones?

Fast ways to Boost Metabolism?

I've 8 fast ways to get you there....

Naturally, teens metabolism is high. So why am I harping on the subject still?

Because there are many effective ways to do it, to get your metabolism even higher throughout the day.

Before I zoom in on these 8 powerful ways, get to know your metabolism first.

All clear?

OK. Let's get cracking.

1. Do Cardio Exercise

It's one of the most powerful and direct ways to boost metabolism.

When you cardio-exercise, you need energy to fuel your body to do the job.

Running, jogging, swimming, biking, dancing.....These are excellent cardio exercises that cause you to use up lots of energy and hence burn off lots more calories.

Do at least 30 minutes per session for 3-4 times or 4-5 times per week, which can elevate your metabolism for several hours after you've finished exercising.

The best time to do cardio exercise is in the morning as you kick start your metabolism for the day.

2. Do weights

Get into weight training and do 3-4 times per week for 20-30 minutes per session, to promote growth of lean muscle mass.

Since muscle is metabolically active (meaning it burns calories while you're at rest) and burns more calories than fat, the more lean muscle mass you pack into your body frame, the more calories you'll burn while you're at rest.

(Note: For every 1 lb of additional lean muscle mass you pack into your body, you burn about 30-50 extra calories per day without any additional effort on your part....)

3. Eat Breakfast, Don't Skip it

When you sleep at night, you stop eating food, hence you sort of winding down and entering into a "fasting" phase and your metabolism also slows down.

So, eating breakfast first thing in the morning is one of the smartest WAYs to boost metabolism and kick start it back again!

You signal to your body that you aren't "fasting" and "starving" anymore!

Well, your body takes the cue and resumes its normal metabolic rate and not goes into a "starvation" mode (thinking that you're facing "starvation") by slowing down your metabolism.

Hence, no matter how rush you're in the morning, eat first! Grab a fruit, a piece of bread or some ready-to-eat stuff and off your metabolism soars!

How hard is this?

4. Eat Smaller Meals And Eat Often

Eat 5-6 smaller meals throughout the day and you'll keep high your metabolic rate.

This has got to do with you making use of the thermic effect of food, to burn off energy (hence calories).

The more frequent you eat, the more often your metabolic rate gets hiked up in the day.

It would be best for you to eat major portion of your food earlier in the day; with dinner your smallest and lightest meal and eat it early in the evening, say before 7 or 8 pm.

This helps your body process and burn the food when you're still awake and move around.

5. Eat Enough Calories

You need 60 -70% of your calories in a day to power your body to get going.

The gist is - if you eat too few calories, your body automatically slows down its metabolic rate (thinking that you're starving), to protect you from losing energy (calories).

An average healthy teen needs to eat at least 1,500 calories per day, to keep your basal metabolic rate at healthy, going level.

So don't go below this level.

6. Eat More Lean Protein

You take more energy to digest protein than carbohydrate or fat. Hence, you should eat more lean protein such as lean chicken and fish, if possible, everyday.

7. Eat Fibre

One of the sure ways to boost metabolism is to eat food high in fibre. It really gives your thermic metabolism a boost.

You simply take longer to digest high-fiber foods like fruits & vegetables, beans and whole grains (brown rice, whole grain pasta/bread) hence it helps you burn more calories.

8. Drink Plenty Of Water (At Least 8 Big Glasses Daily)

Just so you know, the energy burning process of metabolism needs water to work.

So drink up! But not sugary drinks like colas or cokes or sweetened fruit juices. Just water!
