What're "In" and "Trendy" In Womens Exercise Clothing? Make A Guess?
Your guess - Fashionable and Trendy Designer-Labeled Womens Exercise Clothing?
You would be right on that count.
But another way of looking at it is this - what you feels good and comfortable and suits the exercise you're doing, are the "in" and "trendy" stuff!
Why do you Think I even Mention Womens Exercise Clothing?
Well, because you (and I) are women, naturally you want to feel and look fantastically good in your workout apparel, even if you exercise at home - with no audience, perhaps only your cats to admire you!?
If you exercise outdoor or in a gym, uh...huh...it can become your most "concerned" area if you're "fashion' conscious.......
That's OK. It's the woman thing, a privilege even, you know....
What's more, what you wear during your workout is just as important as the workout itself.
It's to do with the building up of confidence that's the magic -a good and nice-fitting exercise clothe does this wonderful thing of boosting your confidence level and putting a smile on your face, even if you loathe to exercise!
What about the opposite?
Ah...I can tell you that an ill-fitting workout apparel can make or break a good workout....
That brings us to T-shirts and shorts. Aren't they considered as appropriate exercise clothes to get you by?
Oh, yes.......and yes.......
As long as you're comfortable and you feel good in them.
And they don't get in your way when you exercise. That's important.
You don't want to be fending off your shirt tails, the long, loose sleeves and the droopy pants when you exercise! Hey, they'll affect your workout as you won't be able to concentrate.
The point I want to drive home at is that womens exercise clothing is important for your exercise pleasure!.
Nice, huh?
So spend a little time to check out what workout apparel is out there for you, besides your T-shirts and shorts.
How to Choose Womens Exercise Clothing?
I always consider the followings when selecting and buying exercise clothes for my workout:
What time of day am I exercising? If it's in the morning, for e.g., bright-colored apparel will definitely cheer me up!
Am I exercising inside or outside (my house)? If it's outside, then I got to check outside weather and temperature, then put on the appropriate exercise clothes
What are the outside weather and temperature?
What type of exercise am I doing? If it's toning exercise , I'll dress up appropriately to suit the exercise
Hmmm....Which part of my body I want to hide? I'm not shy that I've got some "imperfect" parts to hide!
Shhh....Which part of my body I want to show off? Well, I've secretly thought of this...
I think your first priority in choosing womens exercise clothing is comfort and the feel good factor. And you also want clothes that don't chafe your delicate skin and also offer you protection from the sun when you're outside.
If you exercise outside, put on light-colored clothes to reflect light rays from the sun.
Remember your shoes. If you're running, put on your running shoes . If you're walking, your walking shoes . If you're doing toning exercise, your cross trainers are in to do the job.
Choose your workout socks; make sure they aren't too thick or too thin. You could get blisters which can ruin a good workout, if the socks aren't of the right thickness.
What Type of Womens Exercise Clothing to put on when Exercise in Cold Weather?
My biggest concern will be hypothermia (i.e. excessive heat loss) and how much heat my body will lose during exercise.
Besides my own body fat which insulates me against heat loss, exercise clothes add to the insulation barrier and is considered an important element in performance and comfort while exercising in the cold.
They're generally good insulators because they've the ability to trap air, which is a poor conductor of heat. If the air trapped by the clothing cannot conduct the heat away from my body, temperature will be maintained.
Unlike air, however, water is a fast conductor of heat and even in the coldest of temperatures, I'll sweat and risk significant heat loss.
With this in mind, I'd choose workout apparel that can trap air but allow sweat to pass through, away from my body.
I need to wear my clothing in layers as the extra layers help trap heat, and it's easy to take off each layer if I become warm.
I'll avoid heavy cotton sweats or tightly woven material that'll absorb and retain water.
This is because these materials cannot provide a layer of dry air near the skin and they can increase the amount of heat my body loses as I exercise.
In Warm Weather - what Types of Womens Exercise Clothing?
I go for lighter exercise clothes that allow me to move easily. Also, wear light-colored clothes to reflect heat rays.
I choose nylon, linen clothing, or clothing made of synthetic material. I don't have to change clothes when they become wet - as sweat evaporates, it cools me.
I avoid polyester or plastic clothing, especially with elastic bands at the wrist, ankles, and neck which promote sweating.
No Right and Wrong Thing
Well, there's no right and wrong when it comes to womens exercise clothing.
I think the most important thing is what makes you feel good and comfortable and keeps the sweat away!
